Contract Event Assistant
Rock Lake Retreats & Events – College Station, TX
Contract Position | Part-Time (Approx. 6–10 hrs/week depending on events)
Position Overview
Rock Lake Retreats & Events is seeking a reliable, proactive, and hospitality-minded Contract Event Assistant. The candidate we’re looking for loves hospitality by showing up to take care of anything a guest might need so they have an absolutely fantastic experience. They will also need to capture content for for our social media.
Key Responsibilities
Event Setup & Hospitality (Hours based on scheduled events)
- Set up and arrange tables, chairs, ceremony seating, and event layouts according to diagrams or instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness of event spaces before, during, and after rentals.
- Empty, replace, and manage trash and recycling throughout the property.
- Monitor property needs during events and proactively address issues (trash, supplies, cleanliness, guest support).
- Provide exceptional hospitality—being helpful, polite, and attentive to guests and vendors.
- Assist with event teardown, storage, and resetting spaces.
- Serving food
- Having a TABC & Food Handling Certification is a plus
- Other duties when required
Qualifications
- Reliable and dependable with consistent communication.
- Positive attitude and customer-service mindset.
- Strong physical ability to lift, carry, and move tables, chairs, and equipment (up to ~50 lbs).
- Attention to detail in event setup, cleanliness, and property presentation.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Problem solver—able to see what needs to be done and take initiative without constant direction.
- Highly experienced and comfortable recording videos and taking photos of individuals and groups
- Clean criminal and driving record
- Non-smoking
Schedule & Compensation
- Flexible schedule based on event calendar.
- Weekend and evening availability is required. Setup will normally be Fridays and Saturdays, with some late evenings until 1:00am.
- Approximately 6-10 hours/week – but only when events are booked.
- Compensation: $15 per hour
- Upward Mobility: We will be looking for team members who can step into the role of training, mentoring, and managing.
